La Mexicana Decaf
Regular price $17.35
Cupping Notes: Creamy, Chocolate, and slightly Nutty
This is an S.H.G. (Strictly High Grown) specialty grade coffee
From the high mountains west of Vera Cruz Mexico comes a delicious coffee that is decaffeinated through the “natural” process, and roasted dark well into the second crack, and dumped when tiny specks of oil appear on the bean.
This is a fully flavorful coffee that has often been selected as one of our best dark roasted coffees in our periodic coffee tastings.
You would never suspect that it is decaf!
Photo: Laura Bagby is one of the few Americans and Europeans who speak the Miskito language. She learned Miskito while living in the village of Auka Honduras, were only two others spoke English. The students of Project Ezra often light up when Laura visits a school, because they love talking to a "Meriki" in their own language. Laura is 100% Japanese, born in Japan, but to many of her friends on Maui, she is known as "La Mexicana", and name given to her years ago by our friend Craig Englert. That is why we named this delicious coffee after her!
